Dr. Derek Schmidt
A lifelong Waukesha resident.
Dr. Derek T. Schmidt is a lifelong Waukesha resident, from his days at Rose Glen Elementary all the way through his graduation from Waukesha West High School in 2006. He rose through the ranks of the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and Dr. Schmidt is still active with the organization today. After high school, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in biology from Michigan Technological University, where he was both a member of the football team and an assistant coach for the local high school. While home from school on break, he worked for Oral Maxillofacial Associates of Waukesha as a surgical assistant. Dr. Schmidt earned his DDS from Marquette University School of Dentistry in the spring of 2014 and is a member of the ADA, WDA, Academy of Osseointegration, and is the President of the Waukesha County Dental Society. He is a Fellow with the American College of Dentists and with the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with his friends and family. He is very involved in the community and participates in the Mission of Mercy on a yearly basis. He lives with his wife, Rachel, and black lab, Diesel, in Waukesha.
Dr. Cody Novotny to Spring City Family Dental
Starting January 1st!
Dr. Cody Novotny was born and raised right here in southeastern Wisconsin, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison before heading out east to pursue his dental education. He earned his DDS from Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College,and remained in New York for an additional year of post-graduate studies as a part of the Montefiore Medical Center Residency Program in the Bronx in New York City. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin Dental Association, the Waukesha County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and has earned an associate fellowship in the World Dental Laser Institute.
Dr. Cody prides himself in offering a comprehensive approach to dental care, taking the time to meet with and create individual treatment plans that merge patient needs and wants to maximize oral health. He is also passionate about continuing to grow as a clinical provider, enrolling in many continuing education courses on the latest dental techniques in procedures.
After meeting his wife Annie in New York, the Novotnys moved back to Wisconsin to start a family, welcoming a son this past year. While not in the office, Dr. Cody enjoys spending time with his family, as well as hiking, fishing, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.
